Day01 Arrival in Lhasa (Altitude 3650m)
After arriving in Lhasa, local guide and driver will welcome you at the airport or train station, transfer you to the booked hotel in Lhasa city; you will take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude or feel free to go to Potala Square, enjoy the fountain with different colors and get amazing photos of Potala palace and around.
Day02 Lhasa city tour
Today our tour will begin from UNESCO World Heritage site - Potala Palace, which is also the winter palace of Dalai Lama. It's situated at 12,139 feet above sea level. It's a 13-story high building that contains over 1,000 rooms, various statues, stupas, murals and artifacts.
Then continue to Jokhang Temple this afternoon, another UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s a spiritual center for Buddhists in Tibet. Next to the temple, it is Bakhor Street, filled with pilgrims and street vendors, selling traditional Tibetan items such as prayer wheels and jewelry.
Day03 Lhasa to Gyangtse to Shigatse (Altitude 3900m)
In the morning, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way, drive over the Gampala pass (4790m), we will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400m) which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains; we will have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m) in the distance, it’s the highest mountain near Lhasa.
Gyangtse was historically third largest city in Tibet (after Lhasa and Shigatse). In Gyangtse, we will visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum.
After one and a half driving, we arrive in Shigatse, which is the second largest city in Tibet. In Shigatse, go and visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the seat of Tibet's second highest incarnation, the Panchen Lama.
Day04 Shigatse to Mt. Everest (5200m) via Tingri
Leave Shigatse and head to Lhatse, it is a small town where tourists have their lunch.
Then, continue to drive to Shegar. On the way down to Shegar, we will view the Mt. Everest in the distance if the weather is clear enough. While passing one of the highest Passes in Tibet (Pang la pass, height 5050m), we will view the whole five highest peaks in the world; then we will arrive at Rongbuk monastery (Altitude 4900m).
Now all the tourists are not allowed to visit the Mt. Everest Base Camp because of environment protection, we will view it’s platform at Rongbuk Monastery. And all the private cars and tourist buses can only get to the parking lot which is about 20km away from Rongbuk Monastery, we will change the sightseeing bus to reach Rongbuk Monastery, it’s about 30 minutes’ driving.
Day05 Mt. Everest to Saga (Altitude 4487m)
In the morning, if the weather is good, you can see the sun rise on the top of Mt. Everest. After visiting and taking the closest picture of Mt. Everest, we go to Tongla pass and enjoy the panoramic view of Himalaya mountain range. Then drive to our next destination - Saga. On the way, enjoy the pure scenery of the Pelkhu tso Lake (4600m).
Day06 Saga to Tarchen (Altitude 4600m)
Drive to reach Tarchen, which is the nearest town as base for all the travelers and pilgrims who are going to visit the holy Mt. Kailash. Before reaching Tarchen, you will tour the holy lake Manasrovar (4590m), walk around the lake to enjoy the beautiful blue waters, where you can see Mt. Kailash in sunny days.
Day07 Tarchen to Tsada (Altitude 3700m)
Today is free for you to visit holy Mt. Kailash; you can have a trek to view it’s great peak. Walk 1.5 - 2 hours, we will reach a prayer array, here you can see the holy mountain up close and take photos; then walk back and drive to Tsada, 4 - 5 hours driving.
Today we will visit the Tsada Earth Forest, the Ruins of Guge Kingdom and the Tholing Monastery. The Earth Forest is the most famous natural scenery in Tsada, which is a special landscape shaped from the wind erosion of the dried lake. The Tholing Monastery is the oldest Buddhist temple in the Ngari Region of western Tibet.
Day09 Tsada to Shiquanhe (Altitude 4400m)
Today we will drive to Shiquanhe town, which is the administrative seat of Ngari region of Tibet. We will watch the wild animals running and playing around on this vast highland during the journey.
Day10 Shiquanhe to Ya-Re to Renduo village (Altitude 4500m)
Today, we will drive into the depopulated zone; it is also the quintessential part of this tour. In this unfrequented land, there are numerous lakes, boundless wilderness, endless mountains, and we have chance to see antelopes and wild donkeys.
Day11 Renduo to Tsochen (Altitude 4613m)
Continue to enjoy the scenery along the way today. On the way, visit Zabuyechaka salt lake (4,421 meters above sea level), which is the most amazing and mysterious plateau salt lake, and it’s also the world's third largest lithium mining area; except it, there are many other unknown small lakes. Arrive in Tsochen county in the evening.
Day12 Tsochen to Wenbunan village (Altitude 4650m)
Today, there are some of the most anticipated scenery in northern Tibet - Zharinanmutso lake, Dangruoyongcuo lake and Wenbunan village. Zari namtso is the third largest lake in Tibet; Dangruoyongcuo lake is the most moving lake in northern Tibet; Wenbunan village is an isolated village surrounded by lakes and snow mountains.
Day13 Wenbunan village to Nima (Altitude 4500m)
After setting out from Wenbunan village, we drive north about 40 kilometers and arrive Dongqiongtso. Although the lake is small, the water color was extremely beautiful.
Beside the lake is another ancient village - Wenbubei village, as peaceful and peaceful as Wenbunan village. There is a temple, Wenbu temple beside the village. After leaving Wenbubei village, head to Nima, the youngest county in Tibet.
Day14 Nima to Bange (Altitude 4900m)
Today we will view the largest lake in Tibet - Serlintso lake (4500m above sea level). Herds of cattle and sheep are scattered around the blue lake, it’s a plateau pasture scene. There are many nameless beautiful lakes along the way. At last we drive on the long-lost cement road and arrive in Bange county.
Day15 Bange to Lhasa
Today we drive to Lhasa directly. After reach Lhasa, you are free on your own to walk around this city again.

Day16 leave Lhasa for other city
Today we will transfer you to the airport or train station to your next destination. Say goodbye to Tibet!

while you are planning a travel to Tibet, something you should know
- you need a packaged tour, either fully packaged or half packaged;
- you need a special paper besides your China visa, that is called Tibet travel permit, issued by Tibet A.R. tourism bureau, it allows you to tour in Lhasa area, like Lhasa city, Namtso lake, Reting monastery, Ganden monastery;
- you need a 2nd paper to travel to Gyangtse, Shigatse, Tsetang, and Mt.Everest area, it is called Aliens travel permit, issued by China armed police;
- you need a 3rd paper if you plan to travel to Mt.Kailash and holy lake Manasarovar, or when you plan to travel Tibet by road from Karshigar, Lijiang or Zhongdian, Chengdu, Golmud or Xining; this paper is issued by China millitary forces;
- you need the 1st paper to get your air tickets or train tickets;
- you can take plane or train going to Lhasa, but, it is impossible to take public transportation going into Tibet.
